ANDREWS - Dedication services for the newly constructed Holy Redeemer Catholic Church here took place Wednesday, August 28. About 175 persons were present for the ceremonies, including 16 priests. Fathers John Loftus and James Wilmes were special assistants to Bishop Waters as he performed the dedication rites. Father Leonard Spanjers was Master of Ceremonies. After the Mass, Bishop Waters conferred the Sacrament of Confirmation on 34 persons. Those from this area who were confirmed were: Zula Francis Allen, Antonia Ayers, Gerald Beavers, Panzy Beavers, George El Khouri, Theresa El Khouri, Maureen Hartman, Robert Hughes, Sr., Julia Hughes, Robert Hughes, Jr., Ruth Hughes, Bruce Hughes, James Jones, Andrew Jones, Ramona Joseph, Karla Joseph, Hope Lowry, Carl Lyvers, Jr., Michael Mauldin and Connie Murray. The church was prepared for this special occasion with flowers presented and arranged by Mrs. Roger Dewar and Mrs. Lawson West decorating the altar. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bl Khouri and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Jones were responsible for the appearance of the church. Additional chairs were loaned by Peyton Ivie.ANDREWS - Guests at the dedication of Andrews' new Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and those receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation were entertained in the school cafeteria following the services. Around 160 were present for the meal, served by Mrs. Vallie Mae Bowman, Miss Emma Cline, Mrs. Beatrice Bush, Miss Hazel Cress, and Mrs. Crawford Wyke. Miss Meredith Whitaker, Andrews High Home Economics teacher, and class members served the tables. Girls assisting were Linda Allen, Nadine Day, Pat Guffey, Carolyn Killian, Monica Kivel, Judy Moore, and Kay Parker. Floral pieces in the room were arranged by Mrs, A, B, Chandler, Sr., and Mrs. William Wishon. Planners of the meal were Mrs. Harold Jones, Mrs. Joseph El Khouri, Mrs. John Jordan and Mrs. Raymond Jospeh.
